Keep in mind this: a lot of times, narcissists come into money—or have money coming in—and they don’t tell you. You could be in a relationship with a narcissist who has some sort of side income going on, and they could be making money on the side, and you might never find out about it until later—because they don’t want you to know they have money.
A lot of times, especially covert narcissists, they play the “poor” act. They want to play the poor so that you spend your money while they bank theirs. Or they hide the money—often by putting it away through toxic family members. You may never know they’re making money on the side or that they have money.
This way, they’re squeezing you—having you spend while you’re thinking they don’t have money—meanwhile they have a stash of cash.
A lot of covert narcissists have money, but they don’t want you to know it. They’re always crying about not being able to pay for things, and they work people’s sympathy. They’ll say, “Do you need help with something? I can give you money.” Meanwhile, they already have money.
So a lot of times, narcissists have money and they won’t let you know it because they want you to give them a handout or they want you to spend your money.
Now, what else would a narcissist do when they have money or when they come into money? They go crazy with their addictions—especially if they’re into drugs. If they’re into cocaine, they’ll be doing plenty of cocaine. If they’re into weed, they’ll be doing plenty of weed. If they’re into alcohol, they’ll be drinking.
So they take their money and blow it on whatever their addiction is. It could be drinking, drugging, or gambling. They could be at casinos constantly. It could also be spending that money on strip clubs and paying for sex. This is for their “fun times.” They’ll be out spending money for sex.
